Description

This pin and pendant is signed by David and Roberta Williamson, well-known and well-awarded contemporary jewelers. They are known for incorporating old pieces into new pieces with special concentration on insects and nature.  This pin is no exception.
In really good condition (and from 1997), it comprises an antique painting of a young girl with a puffy carved amethyst heart.  The heart is set within sterling leaves, with special attention given to them.  The leaves look like they have been eaten by an insect both on the border and on the leaf (there is an insect on the silver!).  The leaves are my favorite part.
Below the heart is a fancy bezel-set amethyst cameo, followed by a very clear moonstone.  Works perfectly!
